"Intentions"

Dear Artist,
Intentions.

Paintings should have some sort of story appeal. The viewer might ask, "What's going on here?" It could be a simple, singular idea like two shapes simply touching or leaning against each other. The idea is to create a visual tension and visually communicate the idea with form, shape, color, mood and brush marks.

My current process for painting is a mixture of personal ritualistic, improv theatre expressing my impression of what pleases me at that time and going at it like my best painting hasn't happened yet...
