Dear Artist,
Color Combos you Dislike?

I have found that picking a color combination that I really don't care for - like Green & Red, Blue & Orange etc. can be a liberating painting assignment, if I do the following:

*Spend a whole week painting with nothing but that color combination - plus Black & White.

*Create a series of six small warm up paintings each morning using only that special color combination, plus Black & White.

*Use your warmup paintings as a jumping off point to create larger works of art - still only using your specified color color combination plus Black and White. You will start to appreciate all the values and tones of these colors and what feelings they can evoke... the feeling of the painting.

I love Red and Green now!

Fa-La-La-La-La La-La-La-LA!
